Back Take Submissions

Setup for backtake

  1. Start opponent on side facing away from you
  2. Lower hand grabbing upper chest/armpit through the bottom of the head, lower hand grabbing chest/pecs
  3. If opponent rolls away from you and tries to get on all fours/knees
  4. Slide foot in between gap of opponent’s arm and leg and hook on the other side of the knee (left foot should hook opponent’s left leg or right foot should hook opponent’s right leg)
  5. Fall to side/get seatbelt

Armbar

  1. Start with seatbelt from back
  2. Fall to a side
  3. Arm under opponent’s armpit should pull back a bit to pull opponent’s arm back
  4. Release seatbelt and use arm not pulling to get on opponent’s back and grab own hand palm to palm
  5. Arm on opponent’s back should be parallelish to opponent’s spine with the grip at opponent’s head. You should be pulling their arm back a lot
  6. extend your hips
  7. Arm along opponent’s back can release and push opponent’s face
  8. Swing leg around for armbar
  9. Arm around opponent’s arm should be tight across your chest
  10. finish armbar

Palm to Palm Choke

  1. Start with seatbelt from back
  2. Fall to a side
  3. Get one arm across the neck
  4. Get other on the back and grab the hand crossing the neck
  5. Use arm from the back to pull hand to choke
  6. If opponent has hand inside preventing the choke, you can also tilt the choking arm away from the hand to continue the choke
