Mount Escape to Side Control: opponent is upright and just established full mount

  1. Put arms on opponent’s hips and bridge such they they go over your shoulders
  2. Lock out your arms and tuck/hook your legs in between opponent’s legs (like a butterfly guard facing the ceiling)
  3. Wrap arms around opponent’s back (make a fist with one and grab that hand with the other) and try to get it as low as possible
  4. Extend legs and sit up, bring one of your feet to groin
  5. Apply pressure with get and arms and drive forward so they roll back on one of their legs
  6. Perform a knee slice pass on that leg and get side control

Mount Escape Sweep:

  1. Put arms on opponent’s hips and bridge such they they go over your shoulders
  2. Lock out your arms and tuck/hook your legs in between opponent’s legs (like a butterfly guard facing the ceiling)
  3. Wrap arms around opponent’s back (make a fist with one and grab that hand with the other) and try to get it as low as possible
  4. You are now in butterfly guard and can perform a butterfly sweep
