Mount Escape to Side Control: opponent is upright and just established full mount
- Put arms on opponent’s hips and bridge such they they go over your shoulders
- Lock out your arms and tuck/hook your legs in between opponent’s legs (like a butterfly guard facing the ceiling)
- Wrap arms around opponent’s back (make a fist with one and grab that hand with the other) and try to get it as low as possible
- Extend legs and sit up, bring one of your feet to groin
- Apply pressure with get and arms and drive forward so they roll back on one of their legs
- Perform a knee slice pass on that leg and get side control
Mount Escape Sweep:
- Put arms on opponent’s hips and bridge such they they go over your shoulders
- Lock out your arms and tuck/hook your legs in between opponent’s legs (like a butterfly guard facing the ceiling)
- Wrap arms around opponent’s back (make a fist with one and grab that hand with the other) and try to get it as low as possible
- You are now in butterfly guard and can perform a butterfly sweep
