Side Control Opponent underhooks your body:

  1. Cup the elbow of the opponent that is hooking your body
  2. Scissor your legs so the leg that was farther away from opponent’s head is closest and hip is on the ground
  3. Push Opponent’s head back/up
  4. Step over Opponent’s head
  5. Get leg around opponent’s head such that your calf is under it and you’re bending your legs back
  6. Extend body and bend knee
  7. Apply pressure to elbow to finish Alternative: Continue going for extra leverage
  8. Get forehead to the mat and finish

Side Control Opponent tries to get hand against your neck:

  1. Using the hand that is closest to their head, catch their arm moving up to your neck and pin their wrist/arm to the mat, with your other arm under it
  2. Grab your own wrist, establishing an Americana, their arm should be pointed up towards their head (fist towards the head, palm facing up)
  3. Tilt your wrist forwards, like you are reving a motorcycle
  4. Tilt your under arm up
  5. Slowly move their arm towards their body
