Side Control Opponent underhooks your body:
- Cup the elbow of the opponent that is hooking your body
- Scissor your legs so the leg that was farther away from opponent’s head is closest and hip is on the ground
- Push Opponent’s head back/up
- Step over Opponent’s head
- Get leg around opponent’s head such that your calf is under it and you’re bending your legs back
- Extend body and bend knee
- Apply pressure to elbow to finish
Alternative: Continue going for extra leverage
- Get forehead to the mat and finish
Side Control Opponent tries to get hand against your neck:
- Using the hand that is closest to their head, catch their arm moving up to your neck and pin their wrist/arm to the mat, with your other arm under it
- Grab your own wrist, establishing an Americana, their arm should be pointed up towards their head (fist towards the head, palm facing up)
- Tilt your wrist forwards, like you are reving a motorcycle
- Tilt your under arm up
- Slowly move their arm towards their body
