Opponent is in turtle Reversal to backtake:

  1. Establish seatbelt on opponent
  2. Adjust the seatbelt so your pull it out and your arm over the shoulder is primarly on top of opponent’s head/neck
  3. Move towards a north-south position (you don’t need to go all the way but the more you go the easier the reversal)
  4. Get to your shoulder and roll towards your back
  5. Your seatbelt should force your opponent to roll due to the pressure on opponent’s head
  6. Opponent should land on your lap, establish hooks for your back take

Tip over opponent with a very tight turtle (3 options):

  1. With two hands grab opponent’s farthest elbow/shoulder to remove that base from their turtle and drive forward
    • usually done from seatbelt where one hand is from the under arm and the other is from over the shoulder
  2. Grab opponent’s knee and ankle and drive forward
  3. Grab opponent’s arm and ankle and drive forward
